"Stur" is commonly used as an intensifier, e.g. "stur-guoð" (big-good) meaning "very good/tasty", "stur-faingen" (big-happy) meaning "very happy (about sth.)", "stur-graina" (big-to.cry) meaning "to cry a lot". 2. "Stur" is also common in lexified compounds, with a close equivalence in English "big": "stur-ton" (big-toe), "stur-bruor" (big-brother).
