Comment: Although Martirosyan (2010:449) specifically claims that մայրի mayri may be the generic term for 'forest', I believe that an argument can be made that the term was still marked vis-a-vis անտառ antar. The usage of mayri is not unambiguous, but it may be understood to imply 'forest' as a source of wood (either specifically cedar or also not specified for kind). Cf. Deuteronomy 19:5 "and when a man goes into the forest (= մայրի mayri) with his friend to cut wood" or Psalms 131:6 "we found it in the fields of (the) wood (= մայրեաց mayreac)".
